WHICH LION’S MOUTH NEEDS SHUTTING?

So today we’ll be looking at Daniel. We all know the famous Daniel who ended up in the lion’s den and came out whole without any scratch or bite. If you don’t know the story, Daniel and three other guys were taken from Judah to Babylon. There, these four young boys maintained their beliefs and God was the only God they chose to serve. God gave them wisdom and abilities over all the other consultants in the kingdom so they just got promoted and promoted every time. People became very jealous of Daniel so they made the King put up a law that whoever that prays to anyone other than the king for thirty days will be thrown into the lion’s den. When Daniel heard this, he went to his room and knelt and prayed to God. The jealous administrators and high officers went to report Daniel so he was thrown into the lion’s den. God sent angels to cover the lion’s mouth so they couldn’t harm Daniel (Daniel 6:1- 28). Today, which lion’s mouth is God sending angels to cover?
What is your lion?
When I say lion, I don’t mean literal lions. We are all scared of lions, aren’t we? If we left you in a lion’s den, I know you will not be smiling and saying “Hey kitty kitty”. You will probably lose your voice from screaming “Help”. Our lions are our problems. Our health. Our education. Is the lion coming at you so fast? Are you getting stressed because you can’t stop the lion? (Fill in the blank with your lion). "Today, I am shutting the mouth of my “—————————"".
Let’s look at it this way. Sometimes, God places us in situations so he can take us out. Why would God so that? He does that to prove to you that He can do anything. He can make the scariest situation normal. It says in 2 Corinthians 12: 9 that “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” God does these things to show us that he can do anything at all. When you are weak, it’s the “go time” for God to show you His strength. This goes back to the humbling blog when I said it is by God’s Grace that we accomplish everything. He just wants us to see his mighty hands in our lives. So in your problems now, just know that God is sending angels to calm it down. God is shutting the mouths of financial problems. God is shutting the mouths of all sickness. God is shutting the mouths of all anxieties. Your lion wouldn’t tear you into pieces. Be strong and have faith. Step into that lion’s den confidently, because that won’t be the end of you.
When the king asked Daniel “Has your God whom you serve faithfully, able to rescue you from the lions?”. Daniel said, “My God has sent angels to shut the mouths of the lions so they would not harm me, for I have been innocent in his sight”. You know that you haven’t done anything, you are loving, caring, giving, a faithful worshipper but all this is happening to you. I don’t know who needs to hear this once more, don’t be scared if you are innocent in His sight. God is going to cover all the lion’s mouth. God will let you face the lion and you’ll say to it “Here I am. My God is looking on my innocence. He will save me”.
People are plotting against you, little did they know it will backfire. Our God is a God that will not abandon us in times of need. It’s normal to feel that God isn’t there when we’re going through things but really and truly, he is standing there. He’s saying “pass me the baton. Let me take this issue to the finish line. Let me run with it. Let me win for us”. It’s easier said than done and I know it, but don’t you have faith in God. Or this faith is like McDonald’s monopoly. It comes in a season and leaves. “O ye of little faith” (Matthew 14:31). Let’s have the same faith as Daniel. The God that began with us, will surely, end with us. Let me end it with John 16:33 “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.”
Prayers: Mighty Father we thank you for this day. We thank you for the opportunity to come before you. Today, we ask you to shut any lion’s mouth in our lives. Any of that lion that’s trying to eat us will not perish. The lions will not be successful. God give us the strength and courage to always remember, in every lion situation, you should be the one we turn to. Send your angels to shut them up. We thank you, in Jesus name we pray, amen.
Testimony: I thank God for another week and for the grace and wisdom. I thank him for the protection upon me and my friends and family and everyone. May he continue to bless us in Jesus name.
